Don’t Get Scammed by Components-Center.com

This message is a warning to any organization involved in the purchase of electronic components. There is a website, www.components-center.com, being run by malicious individuals that are paying for premium placement on Google and require payment in advance for goods, but never ship the ordered product. This website has been set up with the intent to commit fraud.

Dozens of victims have come forward sharing nearly identical experiences.

A buyer performed a Google search while attempting to locate a particular part number. After performing the Internet search, Components-Center was identified on the first or second page of the Google search results appearing together with well-known authorized suppliers. Component-Center’s Google ad states, “In Stock - Order Now. Free Shipping”. Once on the Components-Center website, the buyer submitted a request for quote (RFQ) for the part in question. A short time later, an individual identifying himself as “Dave Wang”, dave@components-center.com, responded to the inquiry with a written quotation. The buyer issued a purchase order and immediately received an email requesting payment in advance along with an invoice. In each instance, the company name appearing at the top of the invoice has been different. The bank accounts have also varied. However, the end result is the same: payment is wired; the goods are never delivered and subsequent communications are ignored.

The perpetrators are believed to be operating several other websites including, but not limited to:

www.buy-components.com
www.electronics-ics.com
www.lcds-panels.com

The company names that have been identified on the bogus invoices issued include:

3 City Electronics
AYNX Electronics Limited
Components Center
Electronics IC
EMO Industry Limited
Great Way Lighting Company Limited
HK HYT Ltd. aka Hong Kong HYT
Jisong Electronics
Jianrong Electronics aka Jian Rong Electronics Limited
LCD Displays Distributor
Sunhta Industry HK Limited
